About Ten Key Drill

A free place to practise 10-key and data entry, scored the way job postings describe it.

A single speed number doesn't tell you whether it's good enough for a given job. We show gross and net keystrokes per hour and accuracy side by side, and we compare them with the exact wording of real job postings — with the date each one was posted, because a requirement from a 2018 posting is not a requirement today.

How we pick and check sources

• We only quote documents we could open ourselves: government job postings, exam notices and published standards.
• We save a copy of the text we quote and check that the quote on this site matches it word for word. Our build stops if it doesn't.
• Every source shows the date we last checked it, and our build refuses to run when a check is more than 120 days old.
• Where a posting is vague — “minimal error”, for example — we say so instead of inventing a number.

What this site is not

We aren't connected to any employer, government agency or testing company, and a score here isn't an official result. The records you key are randomly generated; none of them is real personal or financial data.
